All about Miss Tori
I am from a large family. We are all very close and always have been. I have many many nieces and nephews and can often be caught playing with one or several of them on a regular basis…what can I say, I love having them in my life!
I also have a few amazing children with my husband.
I have always enjoyed having children around me. I guess it all started when I was in First grade. I loved my First grade teacher. Mrs. E. I wanted to be her. So, that was my goal in life. I wanted to be a teacher to young children. My teaching career really began when I was in High School.  I taught preschool for a semester and took child development classes. I also had an internship with the Utah School for the Deaf and Blind and had the opportunity to work with a few students there, both one on one and interpreting for them in the classroom.  I then taught a preschool class at a center for a while. When I was done working, our oldest was born and I have been filling my days since then teaching him and each of our children as they have come into our life. I have found that I really enjoy watching children learn, use their imagination, and experience the world again through their eyes. I have enjoyed doing preschool out of my home, this beginning my 9th year, and have taught on and off over the last several years.
I am also pleased to have accomplished the completion of the nationally recognized Child Development Associate Certification (CDA) through Care About Childcare.
I am fairly fluent in American Sign Language and thoroughly enjoy any opportunity I find to use those skills. I plan on teaching some signs in my preschool classes. I have a great love for our country and the freedom’s that are ours to enjoy here which goes hand in hand with a tremendous respect for those serving in the armed forces to protect our freedoms here.  Because of my love for our country, I plan to help plant that seed in my students. We will learn a little bit about America and our Pledge of Allegiance in preschool as well.
